I read with great interest and dismay Alderman Mathis’ Top of the Morning article in Wednesday’s Natchez Democrat. Apparently Alderman Mathis’ ego is the issue here. She declines to attend the meetings with city department heads, fellow aldermen and Mayor Grennell. She instead submits a letter to The Democrat touting all of her expertise and asking Mayor Grennell to apologize.

If anyone needs to issue an apology it is Alderman Mathis. She has done a great disservice to her constituents of Ward 1, The citizens of Natchez and the City of Natchez,

Anyone, including potential industry, can and do read The Natchez Democrat online. No industry will ever come here as long as these kind of back door egotistical politics are taking place.
