Wednesday proved to be a day Adams County Christian School’s George “Tre” Scott won’t soon forget.

The rising senior turned 17 years old, but perhaps even more special was his pledge to the Louisiana Tech football program.

“When I heard Louisiana Tech was offering me, I jumped on it,” Scott said. “They came to my spring game and stayed in contact with me throughout and just showed love to me. I like the program, and I’d like to be a part of it.”

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver said he visited the Ruston, La.-based campus earlier in the month for a camp and turned plenty of heads.

“There were a lot of players everywhere and a lot of skill there,” Scott said. “They had me playing inside and outside (wide receiver), and I was going up against top safetys and corners, and I just balled out. They said they liked my size and skill level.”

Scott chose the Bulldogs over offers from Jones County Junior College, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community and Southwest Mississippi Community College.

Scott hauled in 42 catches for 735 yards and 17 touchdowns as he helped lead ACCS to a perfect 10-0 2015 regular-season mark and a MAIS second-round playoff appearance.

Scott said he is firmly committed to Louisiana Tech and his focus remains on his upcoming senior campaign.

“It just feels like home,” he said. “I really like it — the coaching staff and the program — and I just want to be a Bulldog so I committed on the spot.”
