FERRIDAY — Services for Darrell Roberts, 60, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, June 18, 2016, in Jackson, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Ken Emfinger officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Roberts was born Jan. 12, 1956, in Natchez, the son of Lebo and Barbara Roberts.

He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia. He was employed by Natchez Market and was over the meat department for 27 years. When he was not working, he loved spending time with his family and fishing for white perch and bass. He never missed a football or baseball game with his grandsons.

Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Cain of Vidalia; paternal grandparents, Henry and Bena Roberts; and paternal grandmother, Olivia Roberts.

Survivors include one daughter, Mandy Hancock and husband, Jim Bob; three grandsons, Tyler Cupit, Colin Cupit and Bryce Hancock; and his parents, all of Vidalia; two sisters, Wendy Roberts and Rhonda Barlow; two nephews, Blake Barlow and Seth Barlow; and one niece, Stephanie Lazaroe.

Pallbearers will be Blake Barlow, Seth Barlow, Bubba Fitt, Donnie Burns, Keith Darnell and Leon Wyles.

Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Corley.
