Job well done on fire conference

Well the 79th Mississippi Fire Chiefs and Fire Firefighters Conference is history, and I must say, this was one of the best ever. There were over 320 registered not including their spouses and others just tagging along to visit Natchez. We also had over 40 vendors showing the newest technology concerning firefighting and lifesaving equipment. I can’t remember ever having that many. To say this was probably the best conference we have had in decades would be an understatement. It was the best we have had in my memory, and I have been a member since 1982.

None of this success would have been possible without the hard work performed by the staff of the Natchez Convention Center. Walter, Jo Ann, Angela, Valerie, Clarence and Mary, among many others, made it possible for my brothers and sisters to have one of the best weekends of their lives. They will remember it forever, like I will.

I must give a special tip of the hat to Angela Weathersby. Without her guidance, persistence and total love for what she does, this conference would not have been the success it was. On behalf of the Mississippi Firefighters Association and all the firefighters of the great state of Mississippi, thank you for a job well done!
