Thanks to law officers for work during bomb scare

The scene at the Doctor’s Pavilion Tuesday was something out of a Hollywood action production.
A man in a special, explosive-resistant suit walking across the parking lot meant this was no ordinary day at the medical office complex.
A patient of the facility earlier had noticed a suspicious-looking package in one of the building’s restrooms.
The police were called and caution led to an escalated response.
The package had the outward appearance of what could have been a homemade bomb.
Fortunately, police were quickly able to calmly evacuate the building and call in experts.
Bomb squad crews from the Jackson Police Department drove down to help.
Ultimately, they determined the package contained no explosives and instead appeared to be someone’s idea of a sick joke, intended to scare people.
We hope the investigators are able to determine who placed the device and, if the intent was to terrify people, that charges against the person or persons responsible are pressed.
Our world has become far too dangerous to not take such threats seriously.
And while at the end of the day this one proved to be a hoax, the next threat could be real.
We’re thankful for our law enforcement men and women who bravely put their lives on the line to investigate such instances and hopefully bring those responsible to justice.
