NATCHEZ — The Adams County Board of Supervisors met briefly Tuesday before voting to hire a new Information Technology director.

The new director, Ashley Perry, will replace outgoing director, Lance Bishop, who is leaving for another job.

Perry previously worked for the Adams County IT department as an assistant for three years before being hired as the Wilkinson County IT director earlier this year.

“He is familiar with the system, and I feel really comfortable with him, like he can walk in and do everything that needs to be done on day one,” Board of Supervisors President Mike Lazarus said. “He already installed some of our systems, like the phone system, himself.”

The board set Perry’s salary at $60,000 annually.

The job had only one other applicant, Coney Dorsey of Port Gibson.
