FERRIDAY — Services for Lela “Marie” Wilson, 84, of Ridgecrest, who died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, in Ridgecrest, will be 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. John Betts officiating.
Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilson was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Wisner, La., the daughter of Ivan Swindle and Gertrude Hanner Swindle.
Mrs. Wilson loved flowers, working in her garden, spending time with her family and friends and talking on the phone.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Berry Wilson; two sons, Butch Wilson and Mike Wilson; three sisters, Cloriece Kenny, Mildred Kimball and Iva Mae Siggler; and two brothers, Wilber Swindle and Ralph Swindle.
Survivors include three grandsons, Wayne Wilson of Ferriday, Clint Wilson and wife, Alicia, of Youngsville, La., and Noah Wilson and wife, Meghan, of Monterey; two daughters-in-law, Lydia Wilson of Ferriday and Lucy Wilson of Jonesville; three great-grandsons, Kaiser Wilson, Kohen Wilson and Brann Wilson; two great-granddaughters, Karsyn Wilson and Molly Wilson; one sister, Virginia Welch of Ferriday; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Wilson, Clint Wilson, Noah Wilson, Tim Houghton, Collin Edwards and Kaiser Wilson.
