RIDGELAND — Adams County Christian School’s Sneh Patel and Brody Cole met Tyler and Tres Santucci in the MAIS AAA state tennis tournament, and the No. 7 and No. 8 recruits in Mississippi from St. Joseph High School topped the Rebels in two singles matches.

“The one thing that kind of eased the situation was to hear Sneh say, ‘Well, maybe the brothers would win their fourth state championship,’” Rebels coach Jim Bob Allgood said. “What a powerhouse. I saw some fantastic tennis today.”

Cole lost his match 2-6, 0-6, and Patel lost his match 0-6, 0-6.

“I’m very proud of the guys,” Allgood said. “There were a few games in Brody’s first set where the ball could have bounced the other way. Our kids were in a division where the players seemed to by straight out of Wimbledon.”

Allgood remarked on the strong representation Natchez provided in the tournament.

“There were multiple colleges watching (Wednesday),” Allgood said. “Hats off to Natchez tennis today. Tennis in the Natchez area is starting to come back around full circle.”
