NATCHEZ — Duncan Park will host the annual Joe Fortunato – Allen Brown Tricentennial Golf Classic Saturday.
The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $100 per person and open to the public. Golfers will chose their tee times upon entry, either 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Entry forms available at Duncan Park Pro Shop or Terry Estes State Farm Insurance, or by calling 601-493-6450.
The tournament supports the Miss-Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation and proceeds go to the College Hall of Fame scholarship fund.
Miss-Lou Chapter treasurer Freddie Sandel said the tournament has been a successful fundraiser for several decades.
“In my personal experience, the tournament is a lot of fun,” Sandel said. “You’ve got ex-football players, coaches and people who love to play golf who come out and have a good time.”
Lunch will be provided for players and spouses from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for other events. The hole-in-one — on par-3 hole 9 — prize is sponsored by Great River Chevrolet — GMC, a 2016 Chevy Malibu. Ditty bags, door prizes, raffle prizes, closest to the hole, longest drive and ball drop are all classics for the tournament. The awards party is at Duncan Park Club after play.
