BROOKHAVEN — Services for Lydia Dianne Case, 48, who died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Riverwood Funeral Home in Brookhaven.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Case was born Oct. 15, 1962, the daughter of Delton Case and Hilda Myers McManus. She was a graduate of South Natchez High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University. She was a parasitologist and was a well-known microbiologist.
Mrs. Case attended a number of universities and had a number of other professional degrees.
She was a member of Morgantown Baptist Church.
She was an avid sports fan and a great softball player. She loved watching basketball and going to Nascar races. She loved music and played a number of musical instruments.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Troy and Lottie Myers of Meadville and Nettie Case of Brookhaven.
Survivors include her parents; one sister, Lajaun Case; one niece, Danaé Beach; one nephew, Drue Beach; four aunts, Nancy Burris, Willie Templet, Bernice Walker and Donis Tullos; one uncle, Emerson Case; a special friend, Tanya Verucchi; and a number of cousins and friends.
