WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Services for Willie A. “Mr. Willie” Hammett, 68, who died Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Marion, Ark., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Anthony Funeral Home Chapel in West Memphis, Ark.
Repast will be at The Cedars in Marion, Ark.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anthony Funeral Home.
Mr. Hammett’s beloved dog, Fe, also died.
Mr. Hammett was born Nov. 26, 1947, in Adams County, the son of Bill Hammett Sr. and Harriett Floyd Hammett.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he became a UPS driver for 35 years. He also served on the Blytheville City Council representing Ward 3.
Mr. Hammett was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Sandy and Bill; two sisters, Barbara and Vertis; and one granddaughter, Dakotah DéEmory Hammett.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Fredericka Hammett; five children, Andre Hammett and wife, Lakeisha, Kerry Smith, Daryl and wife, Kathy, Harriett Hammett and Desmond Hammett and wife, LáToya; and 16 grandchildren.
