VIDALIA — One person was killed in a single-car wreck Wednesday night at the intersection of Louisiana 131 and Country Meadows Road in Vidalia.

Louisiana State Police Master Trooper Scott Moreau said Lauren S. Franklin, 26, was driving southbound on La. 131 in a 2006 Nissan Altima when she lost control and veered off the highway. The car then crossed a field and then overturned and submerged into a bayou.

Local emergency agencies and Concordia Parish Coroner Jim Graves also responded to the wreck, which happened at approximately 8 p.m. 

Officers constructed a tarp barrier obstructing view of the vehicle, which was in a ditch, while working the scene.
