Cathedral Parent Organization (CPO) is hosting its last meeting of the school year on Tuesday, April 26 in the cafeteria located within the elementary school building. It will be an informal, come and go meeting where all parents in the community are invited to walk through anytime between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to see what camps and activities are available for kiddos to do this summer. So far, we have confirmation from 15 local businesses that will be present to register your children and answer any questions you may have. There is everything available from sports and dance camps to music/art/theatre and even camps where kids will learn about archeology or snakes and reptiles! There are also camps available to help gear students up for the next school year and keep their minds sharp over the summer months.

Concordia Parish Library in both Vidalia and Ferriday will offer summer reading programs for students from preschool age to teens. The Natchez Armstrong Library will kick off its summer programming on May 31. All of the programming at the libraries is free and open to the public.

The Natchez campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College will offer its “Kids College” camps throughout the summer. Kids College will serve students from kindergarten through completion of sixth grade. However, if you have a junior high student that is interested in the camps, they will make exceptions. Historic Jefferson College will offer several three-hour long “Explore Camps” on a variety of topics for ages 6 to14.

Key Rehab Associates Inc., will offer a four day “Write Now” handwriting camp almost every week of the summer for kids that have completed Pre-K4 through the fifth grade. Cathedral School will hold “JumpStart” this summer where the faculty comes together to create a camp that is both educational and fun.

Natchez Gymnastics Association will offer a summer session for preschool ages through 12 years of age from June 13 to July 26. Natchez Ballet Academy will have its Ballerina Princess Camp in late June.

Double Play Academy in Vidalia will offer both a softball and baseball camp in June. Duncan Park will offer tennis and golf summer sessions. Crosspoint Church’s “Fit for Fun” Camp for 4 to 11 year olds will be offered the last week of May

Kathleen Mackey King’s Prep Music Studio will offer music camps in late June for ages ranging from 3 to 10. Natchez Fine Framing will offer art classes throughout the entire summer starting June 1 for ages 5 and older. Natchez Pottery Studios will offer three camps this summer for different age groups. Natchez Little Theatre will hold its summer youth workshop from May 31 through June 23 followed by a performance by all participants of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” that will run June 23-26.

Registration forms for several Vacation Bible Schools of local churches will also be available to pick up at the meeting.
