NATCHEZ — Services for Marjorie “Margie” Anne Alexander, 83, who died Sunday, April 17, 2016, unexpectedly after the death of her daughter, Kim, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Basilica.
Burial will be Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Alexander was born May 13, 1932, in El Dorado, Ark., the daughter of Fred and Margret Mary Wall.
She was a graduate of Webster College in St. Louis, with a bachelor’s degree. She married the love of her life, Boyd D. Alexander, June 7, 1954, and to this union five children were born, Deana, Kim, Sharon, Beverly and Boyd II “Buster.” They moved all over the country with Boyd’s work as a petroleum landman before settling in Natchez in 1976.
Margie was a founding member of the Krewe of Phoenix, as well as a member of the Moose Lodge, Krewe of Kilarney, Krewe of Alpheus and Beta Sigma Phi. She will be remembered as a kind, loving, generous lady who had amassed a bountiful group of friends and acquaintances in Natchez.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Henrie; one brother, Billy; one aunt, Iris; and two daughters, Deana and Kim.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 62 years, Boyd Alexander; three children, Sharon Baity and husband, David, of Natchez, Beverly Alexander and husband, Bobby, of Jonesville, and Boyd “Buster” Alexander II and wife, Tonya, of Houston; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Katie, Paul, Gracie and Maggie Lherisson of Greenwell Springs, La., Robyn, Drew, Haakon and Lydia Baer of Lakewood, Colo., Mindy, Charlie, Brinton and Jason Harmon of Denham Springs, La., Adam, Karen, Tyler, Alexis and Brooklyn Baity of Natchez, Keith Streetman and daughter, Mahli, of Natchez, Shaun, Amanda and Jaxson Alexander of Houston, Coulter Streetman and daughter, Elizabeth, of Baton Rouge, Sarah, Bobby, Lilly and Bobby Pearsall of Cypress, Texas, and Michelle Baity of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
