FERRIDAY — Ferriday High School’s Dare Rosenthal has de-committed from the University of Alabama.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle had been committed to the Crimson Tide for 11 months before deciding to reopen his recruitment.

“I just wanted to be open to other schools,” Rosenthal said.

Rosenthal spent Saturday in Baton Rouge where he took in LSU’s annual spring game.

The rising sophomore is ranked by recruiting service 247Sports.com as the No. 53 ranked prospect nationally for the 2018 recruiting class, and the No. 3 player for the state of Louisiana.

Rosenthal said he is still considering Alabama, and added there is not timeframe for him to announce his college decision.

“I’m considering everyone right now,” Rosenthal said.

Rosenthal transferred to IMG Academy in January before transferring back to Ferriday in early February
