UNION CHURCH — Services for Lucille Young Queen, 80, who died Sunday, April 3, 2016, in Baton Rouge, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hickory Block United Methodist Church in Union Church.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

Mrs. Queen was born June 16, 1935, in Union Church, the daughter of Bake and Celia Young.

She attended the Jefferson County schools.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Hickory Block United Methodist Church where she served as a church mother and a member of the United Methodist Women’s Club.

She was employed by the Natchez-Adams School District and S.H. Kress Department Store. She was retired.

Mrs. Queen was married to Raiford Lee Queen and to their union six children were born.

Lucille was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Eddie Young.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Queen and Patty Queen-Harper and husband, Finest, all of Atlanta, Sherry McFadden of Phoenix, and Doris Queen of Baton Rouge; two sons, Donald Queen and wife, Angela, of Missouri City, Texas, and Denver Queen of Natchez; seven grandchildren, Darnell and Tranell Irving, Chelsea and Joshua McFadden, Denver Wayne Queen II, Kenya and Bryson Queen and Paige Harper; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Young and wife, Beatrice, and B.C. “Buddy” Young; one sister, Lessie Mae Rankin; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
