NATCHEZ — Services for William Harold “Muggy” Magee, 81, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 20, 2016, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church on U.S. 61 South with the Rev. Mickey Alexander officiating.
Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Magee was born April 14, 1934, in Lincoln County, the son of William Daniel Magee and Mary Aline Stephenson Magee.
He retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company after 25 years of service.
Mr. Magee served in the U.S. Army and was an avid gardener.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles Allen Magee; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Johnnie Mae Smith; daughter-in-law, Patricia Magee; three brothers, James, Hubert and Howard Magee; and two sisters, Yvonne Shiel and Lucille Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret JoAnn Smith Magee; four sons, Robert Magee and wife, Sybil, Donald Magee, Alton Magee and wife, Connie, and Kenneth Magee and wife, Jodie; nine grandchildren, Anthony Magee, Curtis Magee, Tracy Dooley and husband, Preston, Meagan Floyd and husband, Cody, Jeffery Magee, Marlee Magee, Presley Magee, Christy Staggs and husband, Lee Staggs Jr., and Taelor Magee; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Dooley and Lane Dooley; daughter-in-law, Billie Joe Magee; one brother, Harley Magee; and two sisters, Vesta Pittman and Sara Douglas.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Smith, Danny Smith, Preston Dooley, Justin Smith, Lee Staggs Jr. and Brandon Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Anthony Magee, Curtis Magee and Jeffery Magee.
