NATCHEZ — A memorial Requiem Eucharist for Miriam “Mickey” Menard Scott Bridges Ory, 81, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Burial will be Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday in the Parish Hall. There will be a final celebratory reception in the Parish Hall following the service.
Mrs. Ory was born March 30, 1929, the daughter of Edgar and Mabel Menard of New Orleans. She was a homemaker, lifelong Episcopal Church member and community volunteer. She had lifelong residences in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and since 2006, Natchez.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Francis Ambrose Ory.
Survivors include two brothers, Edgar J. Menard Jr. and wife, Claire, of Lafayette, La., and Harold F. Menard and wife, Rosemary, of Baton Rouge; one sister, Othelia M. Schoen and husband, Jacob, of Covington, La.; 15 nieces and nephews; and number of great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 305 South Commerce St., Natchez, MS 39120, the Natchez Festival of Music, P.O. Box 2207, Natchez, MS 39121, or the Natchez Little Theater, 319 Linton Ave., Natchez, MS 39120, would continue the community service Miriam so loved.
