FERRIDAY — Services for Freddie Reed Sr., 73, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Reed was born Aug. 10, 1942, in Houma, La., the son of Freddie and Kate Reed.

He was a retired truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Lawanda and Cassandra Reed.

Survivors include his companion, Ollie Hampton of Ferriday; two sons, Freddie Reed Jr. and wife, LaKeisha Russin, and Jeffery Williams, all of New Orleans; one stepson, J.C. Hampton of Marksville, La.; two stepdaughters, Eulanda Lee of Ferriday and Laretha Hampton of North Carolina; one sister, Helen Lamark of Houma; three grandsons, Elijah A. Reed of New Orleans, Daniel Lee Young and Milton Young of Mississippi; and a number of cousins.
