NATCHEZ — Services for Arthur Lee “Pete” Irving Sr., 84, of Natchez, who died Friday, March 11, 2016, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Union Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m.
Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Irving was born June 7, 1931, in Adams County, the son of George Irving and Everlean Jones Irving.
He attended Painters Hill school in Anna’s Bottom and was retired from International Paper Company after 44 years of service. He was also a member of Second Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Irving enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Everlean Irving and Laura Isaac; and two grandsons, Eddie D. Gaines and Vernon Ray Isaac.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Wilson Irving; two sons, Arthur L. Irving Jr. and wife, Loria, and Theodore Jones; seven daughters, Earline Gaines, Betty Irving, Theresa Irving, Lillie Irving, Linda Hutchins and husband, Larry, Tracey January and husband, Cedric, and Linda Brown and husband, Johnny; one aunt, Odessa Russell; one uncle, James Nelson; one sister-in-law, Gertrude Wilson; 17 grandchildren, Angie King, Wardell Gaines and wife, Sherry, Carla Irving and husband, Michael, Carlos Marquis Harris, Tiffany Woods and husband, Damien, Arica Irving, Cheree Irving, Kamika Irving, LaBrelah Hutchins, Michael Mitchell Jr., Cedric Reed, Corey Reed, Johntrell Irving, Lapeteress Thompson, Jasmine Brown, Brittany Brown and Danyelle Brown; and other relatives and friends.
