CLINTON — Services for Ina Faye Cothern Cole, 89, of Clinton, who died Monday, March 14, 2016, at Brookdale Senior Living, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with Dr. Charles Scrivener of Morrison Heights Baptist Church officiating.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Reeves Family Cemetery in Pike County, with Dr. Scrivener officiating, under the direction of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cole was born Dec. 24, 1926, in McComb, the fifth child of Anthony Glen Cothern and Ethel Terry Cothern.
She was a graduate of McComb High School where she was a class favorite and voted “cutest.” In 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Horace Mark Cole, when he returned from active duty with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Together the moved around the state in his long career with Mississippi Power and Light Company. They proudly raised two daughters and were together in marriage for 63 years.
A faithful, active member of Baptist churches in McComb, Greenville, Natchez and Clinton, Ina taught elementary children in Sunday school and served as a leader for Girls’ Auxiliary. She loved the company of friends and extended family who grew over her long life in different places. A devoted homemaker, Ina took delight in opening her home to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Glen and William; and two sisters, Claire Gardner and Doris Summers.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Cole Ogden and husband, Page, of Natchez and Edith Cole Breithaupt and husband, Charlie, of Petal; four granddaughters, Vanessa O. Graham, Valerie O. Seal, Natalie Breithaupt and Leigh Breithaupt; one grandson, Eric Breithaupt; and four great-grandchildren, Hayden Seal, Olivia and Bennett Graham and Marshall and Kirkland Breithaupt.
Pallbearers will be David Bishop, Charlie Breithaupt, Eric Breithaupt, Brent Graham, Bobby May, Page Ogden, Matt Seal and Bob White.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
