FAYETTE — Services for Roger Lee Rankin Sr., 70, of Fayette, who died Friday, March 4, 2016, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Taylor’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Collins officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel in Natchez and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Rankin was born Nov. 10, 1945, in Marigold, the son of Moses and Frances Rankin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theresa Rankin; and seven siblings, Eva Mae Rankin, A.J. Rankin, Noah Rankin, Eddie Rankin, Robert Rankin Sr., Lillie Dauthard and Ida Pearson.

Survivors include one son, Roger Rankin Jr. and wife, Stephanie; two daughters, Tammy Thompson and Ciara Walton; five granddaughters, Ashleigh, Shymetrius, Rodricka, Tamar and Alexis; two grandsons, Roger Rankin III and Lamar; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Cailton and Armani; four sisters, Willa Brown, Ora Rankin, Frances Perryman and Carolyn James and husband, Jimmie; 12 brothers, Joe Rankin and wife, Claudette, Isaac Rankin and wife, Gloria, Calvin Rankin, Clifton Rankin, Leroy Rankin and wife, Ollie Jean, Lenon Rankin and wife, Helen, Jerry Brown and wife, Shirley, Barney Rankin and wife, Gloria Jean, Franklin Rankin and wife, Lavera, Carl Rankin and wife, Iris, Ned Jackson and Calvin Richardson; four stepchildren; one sister-in-law, Jean H. Rankin; step-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
