FERRIDAY — The cashier at Fred’s Pharmacy in Ferriday was able to ward off an attempted robbery at the store on Monday by simply screaming, police said.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. a suspect, believed to be a male, approached the cashier demanding money, Ferriday Police Chief Margaret Lawrence said.
The chief said the subject reportedly had a gun.
“The cashier went to screaming and ran him off,” Lawrence said.
Nothing was taken and Lawrence said police did not have currently a suspect identified in the case.
Lawrence said the assailant was of average height and weight. The subject was dressed in all black and was wearing a hoodie as well as a mask.
The manager at Fred’s declined to comment Tuesday.
