Good news caps off great weather

After such a beautiful weekend, most of us probably would prefer to play hooky from work or school this morning. But the great things happening in Natchez need all of us working and doing our part, so get up and get moving.
Before you start your day, however, let’s pause to remember some of the good news headlines from our community last week.
-Natchez’s Spring Pilgrimage kicked off Saturday with gorgeous weather to complement the amazing historic mansions here. We say “thank you” to all of the countless people who make Pilgrimage such a success each year, and we hope this spring’s event is among the best ever.
-Thanks to the Natchez Ministerial Alliance, visitors and locals alike may soon see a new seasonal feature on the Natchez bluff. Members of the Alliance are planning to erect a series of panels depicting the Biblical story of Easter. The goal is to get the display started this year and build it up over time. It’s a great idea, and we’re thankful for those making the effort.
-The City of Natchez graciously accepted a $250,000 grant last week from the Humana Foundation. The money is aimed at programs and projects intended to improve the health of the community. Humana’s goal is to improve health care by 20 percent before the year 2020. The money is greatly appreciated and is planned to fund the creation of the Adams County Diabetes and Heart Disease Intervention Program.
We hope you and your family are blessed with good news this week as well.
