Concordia Parish Library will present for your pleasure Martin Dubé performing “Time Machine: Songs Through the Years” at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10 at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center. Sometimes it’s not the song that makes you emotional, it’s the people and things that come to mind when you hear it. Join us for the music!
Talent, nostalgia and tenacity are only some of Martin Dubé’s professional qualities that propel his explosive persona on stage. First you get goose bumps … then your skin gets tingly … your body begins to sway. These are only some of the sensations that you feel from one of Martin Dubé’s performances. Martin’s dynamite stage presence grabs your attention. Then, his five-octave voice takes over and the audience is gasping for more.
At an early age, Martin began to develop his impersonations of voice and sound. This blossomed into a talent that would change his life forever. This multi-talented rising star has already catapulted himself into the league of world-class entertainers. His entertainment style makes this versatile artist a concert to remember. Over 400 impressions mastered, this talented performer is ready to present to the citizens of the Miss-Lou. Martin Dubé is a symphony of voices and comedy fused together in one package to deliver a total entertainment experience. With “Time Machine”, he transports us back in time to the 1940s, and we make our way forward to the present while paying homage to such artists such as Donna Summer, Frankie Valley, Luciano Pavarotti, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong and Billie Joel, to name but a few. Come and hear why Martin Dubé is truly “a worldclass artist”!
This concert is free and open to the public through a partnership of the Concordia Parish Library and Vidalia Conference and Convention Center. It is partially supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, and is administered by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Works and made possible because of a “Block Booking” through The Louisiana Partnership for the Arts’ Presenters Network.
