MEADVILLE — Services for Pearl Kent Holland, 91, of Meadville, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holland was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Franklin County, the daughter of Sidney and Annie Mullins Thornton. She was retired from Kellwood Company and Movie Star of Bude.
She attended Bude Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Percy Kent and Sidney Holland; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy W. Price and husband, Aubrey, of Natchez; two granddaughters, Brenda Floyd and Leslie, both of Natchez, and Teresa Slaughter of Lafayette, La.; six great-grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Travis Slaughter, Josh Slaughter, Lee Slaughter and Dustin Slaughter; two great-great-grandchildren, Laikyn and Evra Slaughter; special best friend, Hollis Norris of Meadville; one brother, Herbert “Be Bob” Thornton of Meadville; two sisters, Earnestine McCartney of Centreville and Annie Laura Summerall of Meadville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
