Celebrate spring by revisiting the roaring twenties and the Jazz Age from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 7 at the antebellum home Elms Court, 542 John R. Junkin Drive, Natchez. The owners of Elms Court invite you to celebrate spring by putting on your dancing shoes, your 1920s garb and to dance the night away as talented local musicians violinist David Troutman and pianist Burnley Cook recreate the Jazz Age in the double drawing rooms. The musicians will include Ragtime and blues, but nothing composed after 1930.

Experience Natchez hospitality as did guests during the early pilgrimages. Chat with the owners and stroll through the house and gardens while enjoying a festive atmosphere reminiscent of 1920s family parties as well as evening entertainments given during the early years of spring pilgrimage. David Lawrence McKittrick, the present owners’ grandfather opened Elms Court for an evening party known as the Ball of Thousand Candles during the early pilgrimages. Light refreshments, similar to those served at the Ball of a Thousand Candles, will be served in the dining room under the large punkah.

Admission is $30.
