NATCHEZ — The former director of nursing for Adams County Nursing Center has been arrested on charges she used her job to embezzle controlled substances.
Kimberly Lindsey, 41, 80 Robin’s Lake Road, was booked into the Adams County Jail earlier this week following her indictment on charges of embezzlement of a controlled substance.
She was given a $10,000 bond and is set to be arraigned today.
The arrest follows an investigation by the Mississippi Attorney General’s public integrity division. Investigators allege Lindsey embezzled hydrocodone through the nursing center, an attorney general’s spokesman said.
If convicted, Lindsey faces up to five years in prison and a $1,000 fine.
Michael Stevens of the Attorney General’s public integrity division investigated the case with assistance from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Stanley Alexander will prosecute the case at the request of the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.
