Natchez — The first meeting of the 2009-2010 season of Musical Arts League will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Fair Oaks, 750 Highway 61 South, home of the Lanneau family.
The Musical Arts League was founded in 1971 by local musician and teacher, Doris Burt. It has continued in its purpose of encouraging music in Natchez at the student, amateur and professional levels.
The League has offered scholarships to outstanding high school seniors in many years past.
At this meeting, Cal Wilkerson from Woodville, piano student of Kit Parker, will play selections on the guitar.
Many other local musicians are expected to perform.
Members are reminded to bring food to share at the meeting.
The public is invited to attend.
Dues are $15 per single and $20 per couple for the year, which help fund our student scholarships.
