Week of Feb. 19-25

Contrell Shelly charged with four counts of aggravated assault. Case bound over to a grand jury.

James Marsaw charged with possession of a deadly weapon. Case bound over to a grand jury. Marsaw was also charged with possession of stolen items. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Angela Nichols charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury. Nichols was also charged with child abuse. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Derrick Lyles charged with simple assault. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Christopher Carney pleaded guilty to two counts of disturbing the peace.

Nicholas McGrew charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Jordan White pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Larry Singleton charged with domestic violence. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Rosa Lee Owens charged with sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Friday, Feb. 19

Gabrielle Ann Carman pleaded guilty to uttering a forgery, more than $5,000 but less than $25,000 in Judge Forrest “Al” Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with full credit for any time already served in jail, after the defendant wholly and willfully failed to complete the Sixth Judicial Adult Drug Court Program and has incurred new charges. Must pay all court costs, a prosecution fee of $200, and restitution of $8,945.18.

Natchez Municipal Court Cases

Friday, Feb. 19

Alyssa Marie Acosta, 23, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Darnell Bates, 57, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $783.

Trenton Houghton, 19, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from store. Fine set at $573.

Arklimla Shoemake, 41, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Derenesha Winston, 18, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.

Kenzell Issac pleaded guilty to disturbance of a family — domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $73. Issac also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $523.

Gerrian Reed pleaded guilty to trespassing. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $323.

Monday, Feb. 22

Williesia Williams, 23, found guilty of shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $598.

Kenyatta Thornburg, 19, charged with simple assault. Case remanded to files — victim not served and did not appear.

Mallorie Lofton, 29, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Taylor Parker, 27, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Tuesday, Feb. 23

Seventeen-year-old charged with accessory after the fact. Upon oral motion of the defendant, case is transferred to Youth Court of Adams County.

William Jackson, 20, charged with two counts of burglary of commercial building, cars, etc. Waived preliminary hearing on each count. Case bound over to a grand jury on each count. Bond reduced from $25,000 to $15,000 on each count.

William Tyler Jackson, 20, charged with burglary —breaking out of a dwelling. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $10,000.

William Hayden Nelson, 20, charged with burglary – breaking out of a dwelling. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond reduced from $25,000 to $15,000.Nelson was also charged with burglary of commercial building, cars, etc. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond set at $15,000.

William Barnes, 30, charged with felony aggravated assault — domestic violence, reduced to misdemeanor on motion of prosecutor.

Wednesday, Feb. 24

Charles W. Johnson, 45, pleaded no contest to DUI — first offense test refusal. Sentenced to 48 hours suspended. Fine set at $850.

Curtis D. Sanders, 42, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Satisfied by time served. Sanders, also pleaded guilty to trespassing. Satisfied by time served.

Malik Byrd, 18, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.

Brandi Frye, 18, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.
