NATCHEZ — Services for Isiah Harris, 80, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Harris was born Nov. 9, 1930, in Woodville, the son of Lee Harris Sr. and Lillie Shopshire. He retired after 46 years of employment with International Paper Company. His special hobbies included repairing lawnmowers and gardening.

Mr. Harris was a member of New Jerusalem No. 2 Baptist Church in Kingston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Addie Anna Lee Harris; and one stepson, Charles “Fox” Bassett.

Survivors include his wife, Leola B. Harris; one daughter, Debra A. Harris of Detroit; grand/adopted daughter, Latonya Niles and husband, Danie, of Miami; raised as a son, Larry Lavender Bassett and wife, Deloris, of Dallas; one grandson, Jeremy Jamal Jones of Detroit; one great-grandson, Renzell J’Voughn Harris of Miami; special niece, Annette G. Stevenson of Jackson; three sisters, Mandy L. Green and Patricia Haynes, both of Chicago, and Felicia Pouncil and husband, Floyd, of Atlanta; one sister-in-law, Thelma Henry and husband, Warren, of Natchez; two brothers-in-law, Willie L. Bassett and wife, Betty, of Natchez and Webb Bassett and wife, Doris, of Baton Rouge; special niece, Sandra Harris of Natchez; seven godchildren, Veronica Clark, Chrystal Ford, Doriecia Z. Washington, Raymond T. Riley Jr., Kirraney L. Gordon, Charreon Bouldin and Donnell Smith; Emma L. Bassett and children; favorite coworkers and friends, Tommy A. Green, Alfred Hunter, Joe Claiborne, Monroe Rankin, Fritz Lewis, Willie Bonds, William Bailey and Isreal Cage; two special cousins, Alonzo Granger and Roosevelt “Boss” Montgomery; extended family, Carolyn Anderson and children; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
