NATCHEZ — Services for Dave Lee Mayberry, 78, of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at New Hope the Vision Center with the Rev. Stanley Searcy officiating.
Burial will be at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel in Natchez and from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Mayberry was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Leesdale, the son of Alex Mayberry Jr. and L.V. Fuller Mayberry.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Mayberry was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara Fisher; and one sister-in-law, Fannie Mae Hawkins.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Doretha; one son, Quintin Mayberry of Woodridge, Ill.; three daughters, Shone Mayberry of Peoria, Ill., Lisa Mayberry and Dorothy Ann Rodgers, both of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Alexis Love, Jazmine Rodgers, Kobe Rodgers and Zoie Mayberry, all of Cincinnati, Bathsheba Cooper of Cleveland, Ohio, Amia Mayberry of Aurora, Ill., and Leon Dozier of Jackson, N.J.; five sisters, Alberta Clark and husband, Robert, and Camille Williams, both of Las Vegas, Helen Mayberry of Portland, Ore., Ellice Morris of Chicago and Rosena Profice and husband, Willie, of Natchez; three aunts, Thelma Hawkins, Ida Bell Harbor and Estelle Fleming, all of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lungevity Cancer Research Foundation.
