HARRISONBURG — Services for Earline Cater, 85, of Harrisonburg, who died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, in Shreveport, La., will be at 2 p.m. today at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Caples officiating.

Burial will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Mrs. Cater was born March 25, 1930, in Fayette, the daughter of Cammie Clawson and Sophie Trichel Clawson.

She was a member of Harrisonburg First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cater was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marjorie Brewer and Anne Acklan.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Thomas L. Cater; three sons, Thomas G. Cater and wife, Jessica, Mike Cater and wife, Terri, and Paul Cater and wife, Melissa, all of Harrisonburg; three grandsons, Jeffery Cater, Tyler Cater and Casey Cater; six granddaughters, Jennifer Tiffee, Brooke Holland, Kylie Miller, Coty Parr, Shawn Russell and Erica Cater; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Cater, Tyler Cater, Casey Cater, Jacob Cater, Braxton Tiffee, Jared Holland, Wil Miller, Drá Parr, Brennen Russell and Lee Cater.
