VIDALIA — Services for Paul Dewitt Reed, 78, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Danny Reed and the Rev. Todd Welch officiating.

Burial will follow at Reed Family Cemetery in Vidalia under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Reed was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Ackerman, the son of Loyd Gore Reed and Lura Adams Reed.

He was a member of Cornerstone Church. He was also the owner and operator of Reed Insurance from 1984 until he retired in 2009.

Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Loyd Reed; and one sister, Kate Dempsey.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Reed; three daughters, Pattie Jones and husband, Eddie, of Ferriday, Linda Whitaker and husband, Joe, of Woodville and Beth Pilgrim and husband, Beaux, of Vidalia; one son, Danny Reed and wife, Calley, of Sicily Island; one brother, Robert Reed and wife, Nadine, of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Dot Healy of Gobles, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Mudd, Vershal Hogan, Warren Whitaker II, Trey Keith, Ben Morris and Jeff McManus.
