CANTON — Trinity Episcopal girls basketball season came to a close Thursday night despite double-digit scoring efforts from three players.
Jasmine Ivory led the Lady Saints with 15 points, D’Asia Mitchell had 13 points and Sloane Young scored 12 points in Trinity’s 63-47 loss to Carroll Academy.
“Overall, I think we played well today,” Trinity coach Fay Minor said. “We didn’t play well on defense. Early on we missed a few layups and that set the tone.”
Trinity was outscored in each quarter, and trailed 33-25 at halftime. Carroll extended its advantage in the second half en route to leading 50-36 after the third quarter.
Trinity finished the season with a 24-7 record.
“I think we had a great season,” Minor said. “I told the girls to hold their heads up. We have a lot to be proud of.”
