NATCHEZ — Services for Johnnie Edward Rounds, 72, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, in Natchez, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Rounds officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Rounds was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Natchez, the son of Edward Rounds and Pinkie Bonds Rounds.
He was a 1963 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. He was also employed by Briggs & Stratton and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Rounds was retired. He was Baptist.
He enjoyed sports and loved westerns. He was a musician and played the saxophone.
Mr. Rounds was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Miller Rounds; his parents; and one son, Reeves “Tony” Stanton.
Survivors include one son, John Earl Rounds; one granddaughter, Analiah G. Rounds; three brothers, James Flanagan, Charles Edward Rounds Sr. and the Rev. Richard Anderson Rounds; and three sisters, Dorothy Elaine Rounds, Theresa Eloise Rounds and Debra Denise Rounds-Duncan.
Pallbearers will be Reginald Flanagan, Kevin Flanagan, Markest Rounds, Larry Moffitt, Christian Rounds and Anthony Harris.
