NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Edgar Paxton Jr., 59, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, in Natchez, will be 6 p.m. Thursday at West Gate Funeral Home.

Mr. Paxton was born Nov. 11, 1956, the son of Joe Murphy and Mary Moore Paxton.

He was educated at North Natchez High School.

Mr. Paxton was a retired U.S. Army veteran and a self-employed construction technician.

He was Baptist.

Mr. Paxton enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elizabeth King.

Survivors include two daughters, Shalanda McCullum-White of Natchez and Destiny Pits of Cleveland, Ohio; three brothers, Clint Dixon and wife, Shandra, Lee Oscar Dixon and wife, Ruby, all of Natchez, and Tyrone Paxton of Texas; five sisters, Addie Robinson, Mary Ann Paxton, Connie Murphy and Barbara Williams and husband, David, all of Natchez, and Bonita Cage of Vidalia; one grandson, Malachi White; and special friends James West, Ralph Patterson, Fred Sanders, Herman S. Ransom, Bobby Ford and Nathaniel Payne.
