FERRIDAY — Services for Patricia Snyder Irvin, 73, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Riverland Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. James King and the Rev. Josh Morea officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until service time Monday.

Pat was born Feb. 26, 1942, the daughter of Louis Edward Snyder and Elsie Hunter Snyder.

She graduated from Ferriday High School in 1960 and completed her bachelor of science degree in education from Louisiana College and her master’s in education from the University of Southern Mississippi. She taught in the public and private school systems in Concordia Parish for 30 years. In 1974, she started the kindergarten program at Huntington High School. In 1989, she began teaching at Ridgecrest Elementary until she retired. She was an avid prayer warrior and a member of First Baptist Church of Ferriday. Her pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Brandon and Brittney.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Melynda Ann Irvin.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Bolen and her husband Britt of Pineville; grandson, Brandon Kyle Bolen of Pineville; granddaughter, Brittney Ann Bolen of Pineville; the father of her children, H.L. Irvin Jr. and his wife, Joy, of Ferriday; brother, Butch Snyder of Houston; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and her loving puppy, Remme Kay.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Bolen, Britt Bolen, Joe Webber, Bill Beasley, Herry Lewis Jr., Charles Breckenridge, Wayne Wilson and Matt Colvin.

Honorary pallbearers will be H.L. Irvin Jr., Billy Rucker, Bill Colvin, Robert Freedman, Hyram Copeland, Billy Clifton and William Coleman.
