Natchez High was down 57-56 with just seconds left before Terrell came through at the end.

“Terrell took two dribbles across half court, he then pulled up for the shot and hit it at the buzzer-beater,” Natchez coach David Haywood said.

The Bulldogs trailed Wingfield 37-32 after three quarters of play before outscoring the Falcons 24-17 in the fourth quarter.

“Overall, we didn’t shoot the ball well, but we played defense and kept it close enough to get a shot to tie or win,” Haywood said.

Jadarrius Ivory had 16 points and Izzy Holmes added 13 points for Natchez High (5-13, 1-5), which plays at Jim Hill Friday. Natchez High will be the No. 4 seed in the boys’ bracket at the Region 6-5A Tournament, which NHS will host on Feb. 16 & 19.

Vidalia 61, Winnfield 56

WINNFIELD, La. — The Vidalia High School Vikings got off to a good start and then had to hold off a second-half rally by Winnfield High School to defeat the Tigers 61-56 Friday night in an LHSAA District 3-3A game.

Vidalia led Winnfield 20-12 after one quarter of play and 33-22 at halftime before the Tigers chipped away at the Vikings’ lead in the second half. But the comeback fell short. Demarco Brown scored 19 points and Malik Jefferson added 16 points to lead four Vidalia players in double figures.

Desmond Bindon poured in 15 points and Julian Wilson chipped in with 11 points for the Vikings (13-11, 8-2), who play host to Buckeye High School next Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Ferriday 67, Sterlington 52

STERLINGTON, La. — Ferriday High School needed a big fourth quarter to pull away from a pesky Sterlington High School team as the Trojans defeated the Panthers 67-52 in LHSAA District 2-2A action Friday night.

Ferriday led Sterlington by just two points, 27-25, at halftime. The Trojans had a six-point lead at the end of the third quarter before outscoring the Panthers 24-15 in the fourth quarter. Hazlehurst 69, Jefferson County 68

HAZLEHURST — After a lackluster third quarter, Jefferson County came so close to defeating Hazlehurst with a fourth-quarter rally. But the Tigers came up one bucket short of victory and, instead, had to settle for a 69-68 loss to the Indians Friday night in an MHSAA Region 7-3A game.

Jefferson County led Hazlehurst 28-24 at halftime before the Indians went on a tear in the third quarter and outscored the Tigers 26-14 to grab a 40-32 lead. Christian Day scored 28 points and Josh Day added 24 points for Jefferson County (6-2 in Region 7-3A), which plays at Wilkinson County at 7:30 p.m. next Tuesday.

Block 75, Montgomery 68
