ROXIE — Services for Carl Edgar Jackson, 73, of Roxie, who died Monday, March 21, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Union Baptist Church in Roxie.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Jackson was born March 27, 1937, the son of Edgar L. Jackson and Mamie Ruth Priest Jackson. He was a retired log scaler for Franklin Timber Company.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Jane Halford Jackson; two daughters, Debra Kleinpeter of Shreveport, La., and Merry Eleanore Schultz of Gray, La.; three sons, Carl Randolph Jackson of Atlanta, Marty Dale Jackson of Denham Springs, La., and Andrew Jackson of Roxie; one brother, Alton Jackson of Silver Creek; one sister, Doris Dodge of Ridgecrest; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Jackson, Dion Jackson, Dustin Smith, David Hudson, Tony Jackson, Mike Ard and Curtis Linton.
