Woman attacked at Williams Apartments

NATCHEZ — A woman was reportedly attacked Saturday night at Williams Apartments on Aldrich Street.
Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said the victim was walking to an apartment shortly after 7 p.m. when she was reportedly attacked from behind and cut with what is believed to be a knife several times on her face, neck, chest, arm and shoulder.
The victim was transported to Merit Health Natchez by a family member and is doing fine, Ford said.
The victim did not see her attacker, and no witnesses have come forward, Ford said.
“We are asking the public that if they have any information to please contact the police department or Crime Stoppers,” he said.

Actor Fillion to reign as Orpheus monarch
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Musician, actor and “American Idol” judge Nathan Fillion will be king of the Krewe of Orpheus, which rolls the day before Mardi Gras.
Fillion is best known for his role as the title character Richard Castle in ABC’s hit television series, “Castle.” His girlfriend, Krista Allen, star of CW’s “Significant Mother,” will ride with him.
