RIDGECREST — An 80-year-old woman was beaten and raped Monday night in her house in the Levee Heights area.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Vernon Stevens said the woman is hospitalized in Shreveport.

The attack occurred at approximately 8 p.m.

Stevens said investigators have a lead on a suspect and are working to identify the suspect.

“That’s all we have on it now, but they do have leads that could possibly lead to an arrest,” Stevens said.
