NATCHEZ — Services for Edna Lee Holmes, 82, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cannonsburg with the Rev. Traci Cusic officiating.01:29 EdnaHolmes obitpic

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.

Mrs. Holmes was born July 15, 1933, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the Rev. Louis White Sr. and Maratha Turner White.

She was a member of the Eastern Star-Victory Court No. 4 and a member of the mother and deaconess board.

Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Elijah White, Louis White Jr., Daniel White and Aric White; and two sisters, Lottie Marie White and Effie Woods.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin Holmes Sr.; three sons, Edwin Holmes Jr. of Natchez and James A. Holmes and wife, Diane, of LaPlace, La., and Leonard Holmes and wife, Betty, of Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren, Edwin Cardell Holmes and wife, Chiquita, Lamar Gravesande and Ashley J. Holmes; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie L. Dennis and husband, Larry, of Chicago and the Rev. Mandy Green of Natchez; three brothers, L.A. White and wife, L.V., Roosevelt White and wife, Annie, all of Natchez, and Arievlas White and wife, Charlotte, of Chicago; one uncle, Monroe Turner of Los Angeles; one aunt, Anabel Stokes of Los Angeles; a special niece, Tammy Griffin and husband, James, of Natchez; one godsister, Josephine Jackson; and a number of other relatives and friends.
