NATCHEZ — Cristofer Thompson scored two first half goals and Carlos Woods chipped in a third as Adams County Christian School stormed past Machester Academy 3-0 in soccer action Wednesday night.
“This was a great match (Wednesday) by my guys against a very good team,” ACCS soccer coach Jim Bob Allgood said.
The Rebels (11-3, 8-2) defense was equally as effective as goalie Alex McCready notched four saves in recording a clean sheet.
Allgood said McCready got plenty of help from his teammates in neutralizing Manchester’s attack.
“My defense was lockdown the whole first half,” Allgood said.
After jumping ahed 3-0 at the half, ACCS cruised from that point on en route to earning the win.
The Rebels’ three seniors — Woods, Sam Butler and Jace Calcote — all got to cap off their regular-season home careers with a win.
“All of my kids got to see action,” Allgood said. “(Wednesday) we tried to do some different things offensively to give other guys a chance to score, and (Woods) did. I’m so proud of Carlos Woods and all of my players.”
ACCS will look to sustain the momentum Friday when it travels to Porter’s Chapel.
