Girls roundup: Mitchell, Trinity earn win

WINNSBORO, La — D’Asia Mitchell has been the catalyst for Trinity Episcopal Day School all season long.
Friday night was no exception.
The versatile junior forward poured in a game-high 23 points to help Trinity earn a 71-50 road win at Franklin Academy Friday night.
Jasmine Ivory had 17 for the Lady Saints (17-5, 6-0), and Sloane Young and Talie Beard tallied 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Trinity will attempt to sustain the momentum Tuesday when it hosts Amite School Center.
ACCS 59, Simpson 36
NATCHEZ — Brianna Henson scored 14 points and Bailey Boyd had 10 as Adams County Christian School cruised to a 59-36 win over Simpson Academy Friday night.
The Lady Rebels (18-6, 7-2) led at halftime 31-14 en route to the win.
ACCS will host Brookhaven Academy Tuesday.
Bogue Chitto 63,
Cathedral 39
FRANKLINTON, La. — A 19-3 third-quarter spurt was too much for Cathedral High School to overcome as it fell to Bogue Chitto 63-39.
Elizabeth Smith led the Lady Green Wave (16-6) with 11 points.
Cathedral will be back in action at 2 p.m. today when it hosts Laurel Christian.
Jefferson County 82,
Wilkinson County 42
FAYETTE — Jefferson County High School rode the hot shooting of Antrell Gales and the defensive prowess of Diamond Smith to role past Wilkinson County High School.
Gales scored a game-high 31 points and added 14 rebounds. Smith recorded eight blocked shots in the win.
Additionally, Kailyn Hammett recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 assists.
Sharicka Franklin scored 13 points for Wilkins County and Miesha Norman added 11.
Jefferson County (15-3, 4-0) will play Tuesday at Franklin County.
BLOCK — Block High School poured in 20 fourth-quarter points but it wasn’t enough as it fell to Logansport High School 50-40 Friday night.
Delicia Ceasor and Cintina Green each poured in 10 points apiece to lead Block (9-9, 2-2).
LaKisica Bowman added eight points.
Block will travel to Tuesday to St. Mary’s High School.
