Two injured, one arrested in reported DUI wreck

NATCHEZ — Two local residents were injured early Sunday morning in a car accident involving an allegedly intoxicated driver.
The one-vehicle accident occurred at 3 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Street and Ivy Lane, Natchez police reported.
Natchez police and Metro Ambulance personnel responded to the scene.
Two people were inside the vehicle. The report states when paramedics reached the scene, the passenger said she believed her back was broken.
Police reported the passenger shouted obscenities at law enforcement and paramedics and resisted attempts to extricate her from the vehicle.
Paramedics were eventually able to move the passenger to the ambulance.
The driver, Coyle Sessions Brown, 43, 5 Bisland Road, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (second offense). He reportedly refused to submit to a blood alcohol test.
No further information on the passenger’s condition was available from law enforcement Monday.
