Good morning and happy New Year to you. As we begin to get back to normal this week after two back-to-back long weekends due to the holidays, we pause to remember some of the good news headlines from our community last week.
•Natchez began its yearlong celebration of its 300th birthday last week with by giving thanks to Natchez’s ultimate Creator with a Unity, Prayer and Praise Celebration. We cannot imagine a more fitting way to kick off a year of celebration than by first coming together, as one community, and saying offering thanks to God.
•Natchez Mayor Butch Brown says he expects to make a full recovery after a series of small strokes sent him to the hospital. We continue to pray for Brown’s rapid recovery.
•Adams County’s elected officials took their oaths of office last week. The new officials will begin their duties today. We wish them all the best in their roles and urge them all to remember to keep the people’s best interests ahead of their own agendas and they will serve the community well.
We hope your week is filled with lots of good news in the days ahead.
