ROXIE — Funeral services for Robert Lee Pernell, 69, of Roxie, who died Dec. 24, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Sunday, at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Garden City with the Rev. Frank Jenkins officiating.

Burial will follow at Pernell Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Pernell was born Sept. 6, 1946, in Franklin County to Elree and Ollie Mae Dunbar-Pernell.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Otis Lee and Roosevelt Thomas; his wife, Bobbie Jane Felton-Pernell; one grandson, Damien Cortez King and one granddaughter, Jacciah Daleia Robb.

Survivors include four daughters, Vanessa Murphy and husband, Myron, of Brookhaven, Samantha Hayes, Kimberlee Pernell and Princess Pernell, all of Natchez; six grandsons; five granddaughters; three brothers, Mack Washington and wife, Joyce, Jerry Pernell and wife, Patricia, and Revorn Pernell and wife, Marie; three sisters, Ruthie Watkins, Jewel O’Quinn and husband, Michael, and Deloris Mackey and husband, Sonny; two goddaughters, Crystal Mackey and Ti’Mara Mackey and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
