FERRIDAY — Services for Thomas Earl “Tommy “Hale Jr., 57, of Ringgold, Ga., who died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Legions Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hale was born in Waterproof, the son of Thomas Hale Sr. and Peggy Hayes Hale.

Tommy loved hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He loved Louisiana State University football and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. He was a country boy at heart. He enjoyed many years of farming in Tensas Parish with his best friend, his father.

Tommy relocated to Ringgold where he worked for Shaw Industries for the past 15 years.

He was preceded in death by one son, Matt Whitehead; one brother, Bob Hale; his grandparents, G.M. and Shirley McVicker Hayes and Earl and Opal Trevillion Hale.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy Champion Hale; one daughter, Monica Davenport; his parents; two sisters, Vicky Valle and husband, Michael, and their daughters, Rachel, Leslie and Melissa and Dianne Acree and husband, Wayne, and their sons, Shane and Eric and his wife, Sherry; his in-laws, Sonny and Dorothy Champion, Jimmy and Melissa Watts and “Tojo” Champion; Tommy will be especially missed by his precious grandchildren, Easton and Maddi, who he loved dearly; an extended family and a number of wonderful friends.

Pallbearers will be Dale Hayes, Gordon Harrell, Shane Acree, Eric Acree, Jimmy Watts Jr., and Sydney “Tojo” Champion.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shaw Industries third shift plant 41.
