Community is working together

I wish to comment the editorial staff of The Natchez Democrat for a very thoughtful and appropriate editorial in the Wednesday edition.
Yes, committed folks are joining together to get things done in Natchez-Adams County.
Through the Community Alliance, led by John Holyoak and other local leaders, individuals and groups with gravitas are collaborating on a series of projects that will add value to living in this community.
The editorial mentioned that the alliance has adopted/endorsed the Trails Project, Christmas in Natchez, Green Alliance, Keep Natchez-Adams County Beautiful, among others.
It is also collaborating with the Natchez-Adams County Master Gardeners in an effort to spruce up Main Street with new plantings of trees and flowers.
At last week’s meeting, most segments of the community were represented by involved and committed citizens (or as the editorial called them, “doers”) — business leaders, county and city elected and appointed policy-making officials, board members and staff of the United Way, the Chamber of Commerce, the owners of local businesses, etc.
These leaders voted, by their attendance, to work cooperatively and collectively to reach one overall goal, to make Natchez and Adams County a terrific place to live, work, visit and retire.
